SAFETY FIRST

I started the construction of a couple of CICADA amplifiers today. The cases are made form 1/2 Birch from Lowe’s – not the Birch I’d normally choose, but what’s available.

Shield in place for working with the table saw. (Or posing for a spiritualized album cover – you pick)

Using the excellent Incra sled to cut the sides, top, bottom and middle shelf of the CICADA cabinet. Not show is the rabbeting with the Dado blade to increase the strength of the cabinet joints.

Clamped up with Gorilla glue and squared. 24-hour cure, and then on to the router. I think that I will be covering these little guys with tolex, and using grille cloth.
